Community Bus Service

The parish council is pleased to advise that arrangements have been finalised for the provision of a weekly bus service to Banbury. The service will be provided by Ability Northants cic and South Northants Council has provided a grant to the parish council to help fund the start of the service.

It is necessary to register with Ability Northants and pre-book journeys. Maurice Cole has a supply of registration forms. Ability can also be contacted by phone at 07799 522097 to register and their website is www.abilitycic.org.uk

There will be a trial bus run on Thursday 27 June with the service starting on Thursday 4 July. The service will depart from Eydon at 9.30am, picking up at Culworth before coming to Thorpe. Therefore the Thorpe pick-up will be around 9.45am. The pick-up points will be in the village, not the bus shelter, and will be determined after the trial run, no doubt reflecting who is booked in. The plan is that the bus will return from Banbury bus station after about two hours. If booked passengers do not have a bus pass, a standard fare will arise and this will be determined after the trial run.

Final arrangements will be shown on this website.
