New HS2 Information

New information was released at a recent presentation by HS2.

Approaching the Magpie buildings along Banbury Road from Bulls Lane, the first road on the right, sharply leading back to the B4525 towards Marston (crossing the B4525), is called the Sulgrave Road. This road will be a material feed for construction traffic to and from a works compound for the short distance to the B4525. The B4525 will be a material construction route both north (A43) and south (M40 junction 11).

The works compound will be between the Banbury Road and the Sulgrave Road near to where the model airplane club operated. It will provide offices and parking for up to 250 vehicles. An additional problem is that HS2 are now designating this site for a concrete batch plant, preparing concrete for use along the route. It will give an industrial feel to the location.

It will be necessary to close the B4525 near Greatworth and therefore HS2 are proposing a temporary public road named the 'Greatworth T' taking B4525 traffic away from near Greatworth Park to the Sulgrave Road near the east side of 'our' works compound. Traffic can then drop back to the B4525.
